What is a DOI & Why Does it Matter?

Digital Object Identifiers are unique IDs assigned to electronic resources to identify content and provide a persistent link to its location on the Internet.

***AMA recommends using the DOI (instead of the URL) in citations if it is available***

You can also use DOIs to locate resources. Copy and paste any DOI you find in references into the DOI website to identify the content.
