Dissertations are often difficult to obtain via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). In the event we are able to request dissertations via ILL, the Roosevelt University Library will charge fifteen dollars ($15) per dissertation.
This $15 fee will become due after ILL staff have determined that they can successfully obtain a dissertation from another library. ILL staff will contact you and confirm that you are willing to pay the $15 dollar fee. When you have paid the $15 fee, ILL staff will submit your request.
You may request a copy of a dissertation by filling out a book request form in your ILLiad account:
ProQuest has arranged with Google, Google Scholar and Google Books to allow indexing and searching across bibliographic data for graduate works published in 2007 and forward. Searches will retrieve basic metadata for each graduate work (title, author, abstract, keywords, etc), and provide links to ProQuest for purchase or access. Searches will also retrieve a preview of the graduate work's full text in Google Books.
Dissertation Abstracts provides information about dissertations written at universities across the United States. Note that only the abstracts are provided; if you want to purchase a copy of dissertations you find indexed in Dissertation Abstracts, you can do so by using UMI's Dissertation Express website: http://disexpress.umi.com/dxweb
The following sites offer free access to theses and dissertations.
