To find books that we own at the RU Library, type keywords, Title, Author or ISBN number in the Search the RU Catalog box on Library website. As RU students, you are able to check out any materials in person, and you can request materials be sent between campuses.
RU also belongs to something called I-Share, which is a group of many academic libraries in Illinois that partner to share resources. Partners include schools such as Columbia College, DePaul, and the University of Illinois Chicago. As an RU student, you can visit any of these libraries in person to check out books with your RU ID, or you can request those books be sent to an RU campus. To find books from other schools, click on the “I-Share” link on the Library website.
If you need help searching the RU or the I-Share catalogs, ask an RU librarian for help or view these useful tutorials.
When looking for books, you should check the RU Catalog first to see whether Roosevelt owns a copy - you can get these books the quickest. If Roosevelt does not own the book, check the I-Share Catalog to see whether it is available in any of the 70 other I-Share libraries, including many universities in the Chicago area. In the rare instance that a book is not located in any I-Share library, check the WorldCat catalog.
