Earnings Estimates are the expected quarterly or annual earnings of a given company, as estimated by an analyst or other market individual or company.   Earnings estimates can be found in the following RU online resources:

• Value Line Investment Survey (Available only on-campus)
  • To find recent earnings and longer-term projections and estimates, try searching by company ticker symbol in the upper right corner.

You can find information on earnings estimates in business resources like Business Source Premier which index business publications; however, news wires are the best source of earnings announcements which are released each quarter by companies.  Look for these announcements in the online resources listed above or in financial web sites that usually include business news links. 

Some web sites are:

• Yahoo!  Finance Conference Calls  |  Reuters:  Conference Calls  | Search engines of conference calls.  A conference call is a phone call for analysts, institutional investors and individual investors during which a company reports on financial results for the most recent quarter.  The call may also include information related to the outlook for the company's future.
• Earnings Whispers.com  This site lists unofficial and unpublished earnings per share forecasts that circulate among the professionals and wealthy investors on Wall Street.   This is a fee-based service.
• TheStreet:  Earnings Calendar  TheStreet provides earnings estimates courtesy of First Call (Thompson Financial).
